WHAT WE DO
Photoconductivity Sensor Knowledge
A photoconductivity sensor, also known as a photoresistor, is a light-sensitive semiconductor device. Its resistance changes with variations in incident light intensity. When illuminated, the energy from photons excites electrons, increasing the number of charge carriers and thus reducing resistance. This characteristic makes it ideal for applications like light detection in automatic lighting systems, streetlights, and optical switches.
